JK Mustard Powder

Mustard powder is known as Sarso ka powder or rai ka powder in Hindi and Punjabi, Sorshe powder, or Shorshe powder in Bengali, Kadugu powder in Malayalam, Mohori in Marathi. Mustard powder is a finely ground form of brown and white mustard seeds with turmeric powder which add Flavour and colour.

Mustard powder is famous among the Punjabi and Bengali cuisines, many of their dishes have Sorshe powder as one of the main ingredients, the reason being when cooked, mustard powder adds the pungent flavour and aroma. Mustard powder is also used as dressing in salads. It is is equally famous in Punjabi cuisine as well, used in naan bread, rotis, dals or lentils, vegetable-based dishes all have mustard powder as one of the main ingredients.
